Celestial Courier - November 2024

Updated: Nov 4

The beginning of November coincides with the New Moon in Scorpio. A great new beginning as the year's end nears; a moment of synchronicity between the Gregorian calendar and astrological cycles.

The New Moon is a conjunction between the Sun and the Moon; the reformulation of the vows between the giver and the reflector of light. It indicates the moment of the beginning of the lunar cycle. A new internal "flow", still unconscious, emerges and during the lunar cycle this impulse grows until it is externalized to its maximum on the Full Moon; to turn inward again and integrate the experiences in memory.

The reunion occurs at 9º of Scorpio. The eighth sign of the Zodiac, popularly associated with sex and death; at its core it indicates a stage of intense and profound socialization and sharing between distinct entities. From the vitalizing sharing of sexual activity to the donation of the physical body to the life cycles indicated by death; our sense of individuality dissolves so that we can unite with a greater experience.

The sign is associated with the element Water, indicating connection with the imagination, emotions and psyche. Fixed modality, it indicates stabilization and crystallization of processes through the use of the element. It faces the challenge of building something static in a deeply dynamic element. Lakes, puddles, bays; or bottled liquids, such as medicines, perfumes and poisons.

A new internal cycle that starts from the most stable waters within us; the most rigid and established places of our emotional, psychological and symbolic patterns. Moving these waters demands immense power and self-control.

Mars, ruler of Scorpio, leads the New Moon from the sign of Cancer; the domicile of the Moon. This configuration brings a more welcoming and caring quality to this kick-off; we recognize the importance of taking care of ourselves emotionally even when faced with the emotional challenges that arise in the processes of sharing and union.

Mars in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn, modern co-ruler of Scorpio. This aspect intensifies and deepens our strategies and actions; We see the long-term repercussions of each action. Pluto sees in a seed the tree that will germinate from it, the fruits that will sprout from the tree and the seeds of the next generation; anticipating the chain of transformations and the hidden power of each one of them.

Mercury's entry into Sagittarius, on the 2nd, accelerates our mental processes, bringing more flexibility to our internal logic and our communication. Our ideas become more expansive; we seek ideas, techniques and news that go beyond our routines. It shakes up communication and brings more truth and authenticity to our exchanges; we communicate what we truly believe.

Despite the optimism and the possibilities for innovation, we need to be extra cautious with the details and minutiae of processes, which become particularly tedious during this transit. Mercury operates from a logical and analytical place while Sagittarius moves based on its beliefs and inspirations; balancing these different energies requires a lot of wisdom.

Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, moves through Gemini, a sign ruled by Mercury. When two planets are in each other's domicile, they are able to understand and support each other in some way; this dynamic is called mutual disposition. In opposite signs, they form an aspect and see each other. When the dynamic of mutual disposition is accompanied by an aspect, we call it mutual reception.

Mercury and Jupiter in opposition and mutual reception support and negotiate deeply. They need each other's skills to face the challenges of the signs they are in. Mercury in Sagittarius requires Jupiter's faith, expansiveness and integration to communicate beliefs and worldviews with authenticity. While Jupiter in Gemini needs to analyze information and details, sometimes paradoxical and contradictory, calmly in order to develop well-founded perspectives and beliefs.

Venus is also in Sagittarius at the beginning of the month, which brings vivacity to our affections and authenticity to our tastes and aesthetic references. When it forms an opposition to Jupiter, it brings to the surface possible tensions between our desires, tastes and pleasures and our references of ethics, morals and social integration. Despite the opposition, both planets prioritize experiences of union, cooperation and well-being.

This aspect can bring up major questions about our desires and morality. Gemini | Sagittarius is an axis of knowledge production, pre-formulated answers are not enough; it is necessary to embrace the journey of doubt. It allows us experiences of investigation and discovery as grand as the dilemmas that move us towards them.

The ingress of Mars into Leo, on the 4th, also indicates mutual reception. Mars in the domicile of the Sun and the Sun in the domicile of Mars. The dynamic between Leo and Scorpio is of square; they share the Fixed modality but their elements are in tension (Water and Fire) demanding conscious actions and decisions so that there is balance and healthy dynamism.

Mars in Leo assumes visibility, dramatization and creativity as tools of transformation and combat. Our actions become more lively and personal, we seek to act in harmony with the heart and mark each movement with our individuality. Leo stabilizes vital force around emotions and internal images; it engages in a process of spontaneous creation. The warrior moves with charisma and pomp.

The Sun in Scorpio tries to manage the complexity of illuminating a naturally dark, mysterious and hidden environment. It gives light, heat and awareness, drawing attention, in a silent and fatal battlefield. The rulership of Mars in Leo does not indicate hiding or obscuring the lights; it encourages using them in your favor, whether warming allies or blinding adversaries.

The depth and intensity of the Sun in Scorpio also reverberates in the creative processes that Mars leads. It is necessary to bring the depths of our emotional foundations into creation; we do not accept any kind of glitter or fireworks. It demands alignment with our most intimate symbols; sometimes unconscious until they reveal themselves in the creative flame.

The entry of Venus into Capricorn, on the 11th, brings sobriety and sensuality to experiences of affection and pleasure. The transit of Venus through Earth signs strengthens our connection with the body; an invitation to look more carefully at our material life. Capricorn values longevity; even if it demands greater investment of resources and time to achieve it.

The transit is also marked by the sextile between Venus and Saturn, ruler of Capricorn, which makes it easier to deal with the sense of restriction and limits in favor of long-lasting goals that this transit reinforces. We see more easily the limits and responsibilities involved in experiences and can calculate with our feet on the ground how much we can invest in them.

The Full Moon, on the 15th, occurs in the sign of Taurus. The Sun and Moon oppose each other, marking the peak moment of externalization and realization of the impulses initiated at the New Moon in Scorpio. The emotional, psychological and symbolic energy that initiated the lunation crystallizes in material forms and sensory experiences; we need to experience the soul's yearnings with our bodily senses.

This lunar apogee allows us to experience internal transformations and changes through concrete experiences, witnessing how reformulating our internal waters also changes how we experience experiences in our bodies.

During the opposition, Uranus is conjunct the Moon, bringing an energy of agitation, innovation and sudden change to the Full Moon phase. We may feel a great need for a tangible rupture in our lives; it is important not to overload the body at this time.

Saturn resumes direct motion with the Full Moon phase, also indicating greater externalization and movement around long-term goals and responsibilities. In Pisces, it is an invitation to take responsibility for our great visions and dreams for humanity; and also for our escapism. The period of inner review indicated by the retrograde movement is over, reflecting less on time and acting more in line with it.

The decomposition processes led by the Sun in Scorpio pave the way for the grand journey of the Sun in Sagittarius. After facing our greatest adversaries, internal and external, we need to expand beyond emotions and symbols towards greater truths, laws and orders. The ingress occurs on the 21st.

Sagittarius is a sign of journeys; it indicates the great movements we make towards learning, opportunities and experiences that are not so available in our most immediate surroundings. The popular association with travel and parties speaks of the need for this sign to connect with collective structures that are broader than the limits of its neighborhoods.

The qualities of the Sun are well received in the sign, its ability to give light and warmth are seen as generosity and an opportunity to bring together and unite more people. You can ignite your arrows with a little more experience and personal brilliance, in addition to your truths, before firing them. Its light also makes it easier to calculate the direction of the shot; to hit where it is aimed.

Mercury begins its retrograde movement on the 25th, in the sign of Sagittarius, which will continue until mid-December. Mercury retrograde marks a time of reviewing our internal logic. In Sagittarius, thoughts and communication are reformulated in light of our beliefs and truths.

This movement also extends the period of mutual reception and opposition between Mercury and Jupiter. The end of the year will be marked by great restlessness and mental investigations, especially around what we truly believe. Any dissonance between words and beliefs will become more evident; facilitating an alignment between them.

The month of November invites us to dive into deep waters and familiarize ourselves with our mysteries and charms; and from this contact emerge with courage and openness to embark on journeys that authentically connect us. Whether predetermined or the sum of our choices, this month we face head on what we call “destiny”.
